About - Brendan Marris
I’m a local architect rooted in careful design, sustainability, placemaking, and historic preservation. My work focuses on creating thoughtful spaces for living, working, and gathering. Projects that respond to their context, strengthen community, and are built to last.
I am currently an Associate at MARCH Associates in Utica, NY, where I work on a range of architectural projects and bring a high level of technical rigor, coordination, and professional responsibility to my work. Quarter Acre Architecture is my independent practice, allowing me to work directly with clients on residential and small commercial projects that benefit from close collaboration and a hands-on approach.
I value clear communication and a thoughtful, collaborative process. I work best with clients who are curious, engaged, and interested in understanding both the opportunities and constraints of their project; whether that’s zoning, historic context, sustainability goals, or budget. My role is not just to design, but to guide, advocate, and help clients make confident decisions along the way.
Quarter Acre Architecture is intentionally small. This allows every project to receive careful attention, from early conversations through construction, with an emphasis on practical solutions, well considered details, and design that feels grounded in place. My clients are everyday people; homeowners, small business owners, and community organizations that are looking for thoughtful, practical architecture.
Quarter Acre Architecture designs thoughtful spaces for living, working, and gathering, rooted in place and community.
Architecture at the scale of everyday life. Careful decisions, well-considered details, and practical solutions that matter.
